OF THE ISRAELI OCCUPATION STATE/REACTION ON YNETNEWS/
INTERVIEW WITH ACTIVIST FRANK VAN DER LINDE
Summary :
Under the introduction follows my reaction on YNetnews.com, which
had an interview with Frank van der Linde, a well known Dutch activist for
Palestinian rights.
INTRODUCTION :
Frank van der Linde, former director of Fairfood, is an activist
who is fighting all forms of injustice in the Netherlands and
other parts of the world,, like arms trade. [1]
He is also an activist for Palestinian rights and has joined
several actions, like the disturbance of the performance
of the Israeli actress Lisa Koenig in Amsterdam at the cultural
event ’’Spot on Israel’’. [2]
An action I fully support, being a firm adherer of an economic, political
and cultural boycot against occupation State Israel.
I refer to that later.
INVESTIGATION OF THE MAYOR OF AMSTERDAM TO
A TWIN CITY AGREEMENT WITH TEL AVIV/FRANK VAN
DER LINDE TRAVELS TO ISRAEL
In september, the Amsterdam mayor mr E van der Laan traveled to
Israel in order to investigate a twin city agreement with Tel Aviv. [3]
In the Netherlands, there was much resistance against the plan,
since Tel Aviv is a part of the Israeli occupation State, which not
only oppresses the Palestinian territories, but commits serious human rights
violations and warcrimes.
A notorious example is the Gaza military operation ’’Protective Edge’’,
causing more than 2100 Palestinian deaths in three weeks. [4]
I also have written the Amsterdam members of the Amsterdam
Municipality to prevent this twin city agreement.
Anyway :
Frank van der Linde travelled to Israel to confront mayor van der Laan
with his complicity with an occupation State, because he should never have
considered a twin city agreement with Tel ; Aviv, let alone travel to Israel
in order to investigate the possibility !
ACTIVITIES OF FRANK VAN DER LINDE IN ISRAEL
The activities of Frank van der Linde, in cooperation with Ronnie
Barkan [Israeli human rights activist] were impressive :
He sent an email to all members of the Tel Aviv City Council, requesting to meet with them.
They turned him down.
The meeting and interview he asked for with Mayor Huldai were also left unanswered.
Consequently he followed van der Laan, when he arrived in
Tel Aviv and try to confront him with what he is supposed to do on such a visit. [5]
Van der Laan also promised to talk with mayor Huldai about human
rights.
I wonder if he did.
I didn’t hear anything about it.
ISRAELI OCCUPATION/WARCRIMES/TYRANNY/APARTHEID
THE LEGITIMACY OF BDS
As I stipulated above, the actions of Frank van der Linde to
disturb the performance of the Israeli actress Lisa Koenig [6],
are fully legitimated, protesting the Israeli occupation of
the Palestinian territories.
They are part of the Dutch BDS movement [7], which is,
again, part of the international BDS movement, which aims a cultural,
economic and political boycot of occupation State Israel. [8]
For your information :
Since 1967 Israel occupies the Palestinian territories the Westbank, East
Jerusalem and Gaza [9], which, as by all occupations in the world,
has laid to oppression and humiliation of the occupied Palestinian
population, human rights violations and warcrimes, as Gaza
military expeditions like Cast Lead and Protective Edge, which lead
to thousands of Palestinian deaths. [10]
Another utter injustice are the illegal settlements in the occupied
Palestinian territories [11], which are extended untill now [12], which
means pure landrobbery.
Freedom of movement and difficult access for thousands
of Palestinians to reach their fields and marketing their produce,
as difficult access to hospitals and schools,
has further been limited by the illegal
Israeli Wall. [13]
The blockade of Gaza is a starvation operation of the Israeli
occupation regime. [14]
And last, but not least, the clear apartheid policy :
There is a different legal system for Israeli’s and settlements compared
with the Palestinian population in the occupied territories Westbank
and East Jerusalem [in Gaza there is a different legal system,
according to laws, imposed by the Hamas government]
A common legal system for Israeli’s and settlers, the military
law for occupied Palestinians, despite the fact they are civilians. [15]
Also there are other discriminatory laws in Israel. [16]
DOWN WITH THE ISRAELI OCCUPATION REGIME !
And that’s the reason BDS International and the Duch BDS
promotes non violent resistance against Israeli happenings
like ’’Spot on Israel’’ and ’’Tel Aviv Sur Seine’’ [17]
They seem innocent, but they are not.
Yet apart from the fact, that they are sponsored by
the Israeli embassy [18], those happenings put Israel
in a positive light, whitewashing its occupation, warcrimes [19]
and [war]crimes against the Palestinian population.
They are whitewashing other Israeli crimes also, which
have nothing to do with the occupation, but are crimes
nevertheless :
I refer to the Israeli crimes regarding Ethiopian Jews
and African refugees.
RACISM IN ISRAEL
TARGETS :
ETHOPIAN JEWS AND AFRICAN ASYLUMSEEKERS
This is how the Israeli embassy promotes Israel, during
the ’’Spot on Israel’’ event [with the performance of
the Israeli actress Lisa Koenig]
’’"Be there to support Israel and the positive ideas it represents," the invitation read. "We celebrate life, humanity and creativity." [20]
Humanity ?
Pure nonsense !
I mentioned the Israeli occupation and some of the numerous crimes against
the Palestinian civilian population. [21]
Now I will focus on the Israeli injustice and crimes against as well
Ethopian Jews as African refugees.
Tel Aviv ’’tolerant city’’
The travel of Amsterdam mayor van der Laan and his intention
to close a twin city agreement with Tel Aviv is not only shocking
because of the Israeli occupation policy [more than enough reason
NOT to consider such a twin city agreement], but also since
Tel Aviv is no ’’tolerant city’’ at all, as presented by the
pro Israel propagandists.
Ethopian Jews are systematically targets of Israeli police
brutality, as in Tel Aviv, as in the rest of Israel. [22]
In one case, an Ethopian Jew, Yosef Salamsa,
was beaten by the police and kept hours on the ground
into a police parking before getting medical assistance.
Several months later, he was found dead...... [23]
Not only Ethopian Jews face racism and police violence, also
African refugees, mostly from Eritrea and Sudan.
In Tel Aviv, the socalled ’’tolerant city’’, shops, cars and houses
of African migrants are attacked and firebombed, as a
kindergarten for migrant children. [24]
There are racist demonstrations in Tel Aviv where is shown :
’’Death to the Sudanese’’ [25]
Racism is widespread in Israel.
For instance in Ashkelon [a city in the South of Israel, where in
1950 all Palestinians were ethnically cleansed], there is a
virulent racism, against Palestinians as Ethopian Jews and
African refugees.
There is a segregation on ground of race, with regard to
bomb shelters, residents refuse to sell their apartments
to Ethopian Jews, and so on. [26]
It even happened, that some Ethopian Jews were coerced
into taking birth-control injections to be eligible to immigrate
to Israel. [27]
The shame is on Baltimore, by the way a centre of racist police
violence [28] to maintain a partnership with Ashkelon. [29],
as Amsterdam mayor van der Laan is trying to close
with Tel Aviv. [30]
African refugees face Israeli racism either.
The Israeli State violates their rights by not acknowledge
their right to ask asylum.
Seldom an African refugee is getting asylum and mostly
they have no opportunity to ask for asylum. [31]
Israel openly commits a racist policy by calling
Africans, who arrive in Israel
[I quote Israeli prime minister Netanyahu]
’’ “a threat to the social fabric of society, our national security, our national identity … and … our existence as a Jewish and democratic state.”[32]
Israel
They were closed in Holot detentioncentre indefinitely, which is a serious
violation of International Law [violation of their right to ask
asylum and prohibiton of detention without trial] and when the Israeli
High Court prohibited this [33] and they were released.
But it was not over yet :
The Israeli State ordered a city ban for Tel Aviv and Eilat, where most
Eritrean and Sudanese refugees work. [34]
And although Israeli authorities acknowledge, that they can’t
deport Sudanese and Eritreans to their country [In Eritrea there
is a closed dictatorship, in Sudan one faces prison, visiting Israel],
nevertheless African refugees are being coerced by Israeli
authorities to leave the country. [35]
INTERVIEW WITH FRANK VAN DER LINDE
In the interview of YNEWS.COM with Frank van der Linde, the usual
pro Israel propaganda questions are asked like
Why focus on Israel, while there are so many injustices in the world.
Why a cultural boycot, while, in this case actress Lia Koenig, has nothing
to do with the Israeli occupation policy.
What about Hamas human rights violations
Why not recognizing Israel as a State, since it were the Arab Palestinians,
who did not recognize the UN Partition Plan [to divide historical
Palestine]
And posing Frank van der Linde as the FACE of BDS [presenting
him as a ’’lone wolf’’], while it is a widespread Dutch and international
movement. [36]

Interesting interview with Frank van der Linde, one of the Dutch activists
for Palestinian rights. First this : Frank van der Linde is not THE FACE of
BDS, but one of the activists of the Dutch BDS movement, which has this aim,
to boycot the Israeli occupation State, on economic, political and cultural level,
just like the former South African apartheid State.
Secondly : The actions of Frank van der Linde and his co activists to disturb the
performance of Lia Koenig and other BDS boycot actions are completely justified :

TEL AVIV, A RACIST CITY/ATTACKS ON AFRICAN REFUGEES
What’s also a shame, that the mayor of Amsterdam, mr van der Laan,
wants to close a twin city agreement with Tel Aviv, a city of Israeli occupation
State, which is, by the way, not ’’tolerant’’ at all, as has been said.
In Tel Aviv, many racist practices take place, such as attacks on African
asulemseekers, firebombings on their houses, cars and attacks on
their childrenshelters. You can’t have a twin city agreement with such a racist
city !
Besides, Israeli policy in general is racist against African asylumseekers,
who are closed in camps under dire circumstances and face city bans.
Horrific !
ISRAELI STATE IS A NEO COLONIAL EXPERIMENT/THEREFORE
ILLEGAL
Van der Linde has right, that he doesn’t recognize the Israeli State.
I don’t recognize it either.
Since it stems from zionism, which had the aim to settle a State in the
land of the original Palestinian people, which has happened
in 1947 [UN GA Resolution 181].
And founded the State by ethnically cleansing more than 750. 000
Palestinians.
Practices like the Indian massacres in the USA and the crimes against the
Aboriginals in Australia.
OTHER CASES OF INJUSTICE IN THE WORLD/HUMAN
RIGHTS VIOLATIONS BY HAMAS
Of course there are many other cases of injustice in the world
[Chinese occupation of Tibet, Moroccan occupation of the Western
Sahara, the Sudanese atrocities in Darfur
etc] and I condemn them all. But that’s no excuse for
the pro Israeli propagandists to condemn activists for Palestinian
rights ! Wrong is wrong, but people have different focuses.
There are people, who focus on Tibet, others on Sudan, others on
the Western Sahara.
Concerning Hamas, it is a LEGITIMATE PALESTINIAN RESISTANCE
ORGANISATION AGAINST THE ISRAELI OCCUPATION STATE !
But that doesn’t mean, I don’’t condemn their attacks on Israeli civilians.
I DO condemn that !
Because armies, resistance organisations or what other political
organisations ARE NEVER ALLOWED TO ATTACK CIVILIANS !
NEVER !
But that’s nothing to do with the injustice of the Israeli occupation.

´´Those tensions erupted Wednesday in Tel Aviv in a violent protest that saw a mob vandalize African stores and smash the windows of a car with African passengers. One woman posed for a newspaper photographer wearing a white tank-top on which she had written the words, “Death to the Sudanese.”
That followed a firebomb attack targeting a Tel Aviv apartment housing migrants in early May, which followed a similar attack against a kindergarten for migrant children in late April. No one was hurt in those incidents.´´

’’Jewish-African-Israelis, commonly called Ethiopian-Israelis, however, make up about 5% of the city’s residents, and they suffer from significant race-based discrimination.
In March 2012, as air raid sirens warned of an impending rocket attack from Gaza and residents rushed down to their apartment building’s communal bomb shelter for protection, only one woman was physically prevented from entering. She was a black woman who had immigrated to Israel from Ethiopia a few years earlier. An investigation revealed that the area bomb shelters had been operating according to strict segregation by race for over two decades.
Asked to explain why this was the case, a white Jewish neighbor said, “To tell you the truth, it’s difficult to deal with them, they are uncultured.” Ashkelon city councilor Yuri Zamushchik responded to the incident by stating : “It was a mistake to begin with to fill the building with immigrants from Ethiopia and Russia together… It may not be politically correct, but those are the facts on the ground.”
Zamushchik’s impressions are borne out by the observations of real estate agents in Ashkelon, who say that in certain neighborhoods of the city, residents refuse to sell apartments to Ethiopian-Israeli families. “I hear talk of, if Ethiopians move into the building, it will reduce the flat’s worth,” is how one real estate lawyer described the phenomenon. “Sometimes there is horrible talk of their smells, their foods, and so on.”
