Bonjour à tou.te.s,

Nous sommes Zig Zag, une cuisine mobile qui sert entre 300 et 500 repas 3 fois par semaine au Quai des Péniches à Bruxelles (avant le Corona nous étions au Parc Maximilien). Nous soutenons les principes d’autonomie et d’horizontalité dans notre collectif.

Cuisiner pour plusieurs centaines de personnes plusieurs fois par semaine est une tâche considérable, c’est pour ça que nous avons besoin de construire un équipage de gens motivé.e.s :)

HISTORIQUE :
Zig Zag est né l’été 2019, répondant à un cri d’urgence lancé sur des réseaux activistes internationaux. La situation était acablante, des centaines de personnes mourraient de faim en plein Bruxelles. Des personnes liées à Calais et Ventimiglia ont réagi, la cuisine de Calais a fait les trajets plusieurs fois par semaine cet été pour distribuer de la nourriture et des objets au parc. D’autres personnes se sont lancées dans la création d’une structure ici en partant de rien (recherche de contacts, achat d’équipement, créer des connections avec d’autres équipes, etc…).

APPEL A VOLONTAIRES :
Nous cherchons donc des personnes qui pourraient se former et prendre en charge les activités de la
cuisine. Notre agenda est actuellement composé de 3 journées fixes (2 repas le midi, 1 repas le soir).

L’idée c’est que des nouvelles personnes prennent des responsabilités sur un ou deux jours par semaine. Pour un jour fixe, pour un jour variable, de temps en temps, pour aller faire les courses, pour ramener de la récup, s’investir dans l’admin, dans la communication, dans la récolte de fond, dans le maintien de la cuisine… Nous avons aussi besoin de personnes ayant le permis de conduire pour assurer certains déplacements (aller aux récup’, au lieu de distribution...)
Le plus nous sommes, le moins de travail cela représente.

Hello all,

We are Zig Zag, a mobile kitchen which provides between 300 and 500 meals 3 times a week at Quai Des Péniches in Brussels (before Corona we were at Maximilian Park). Within our group we are supporting the principles of autonomy and horizontality (« horizontalidad »).

Cooking for hundreds of people several times a week is a considerable task, and so we need to build a crew of enthusiastic people.

HISTORY / BACKGROUND :
Zig Zag was created in the Summer 2019 in response to the cry of alarm from international activists networks. The situation was overwhelming : hundreds of people were starving to death right in the heart of Brussels. People connected to Calais and Ventimiglia reacted, the kitchen from Calais made the trip several times a week that summer to distribute food and items at the park. Others started the creation of an organization, here, starting from nothing (research of contacts, equipment purchases, creating connexions between the different organizations, etc…).

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS :
We are seeking for persons who could learn , train and take charge of the kitchen activities.
Our current schedule has 3 fixed days (2 midday and 1 evening meals).

The idea is that new people take charge 1 or 2 days a week. For a fixed or a variable day, now and then, to do the groceries, bring back the « récup’ » (food and stuffs’ collect), to play a part in the administration, in the communication, in the fund raising, in the kitchen maintenance… We are also looking for people with a driving licence to drive the Zigzag car (to go to recup, to the place we distribute the food…).
The more we are, the less the amount of work it is.

Hallo an alle,

wir sind ZigZag, eine mobile Küche, die dreimal die Woche zwischen 300 und 500 Mahlzeiten am Quai Des Péniches in Brüssel ausgibt. Vor Corona waren wir im Maximilianpark. Innerhalb unserer Gruppe stützen wir uns auf die Prinzipien der Autonomie und Horizontalität (« horizontalidad »).

Mehrmals die Woche für hunderte Menschen zu kochen ist eine große Aufgabe, deshalb müssen wir eine Crew enthusiastischer Menschen aufbauen.

GESCHICHTE/HINTERGRUND :
ZigZag wurde im Sommer 2019 als Reaktion auf den Hilfeschrei internationaler Aktivisti-Netzwerke ins Leben gerufen. Die Situation war überwältigend : hunderte Menschen verhungerten direkt im Herzen Brüssels. Menschen mit Verbindungen nach Calais und Ventimiglia haben reagiert ; die Küche aus Calais ist in diesem Sommer mehrmals die Woche angereist, um Essen auszugeben. Andere haben mit dem Aufbau einer Organisation angefangen, hier, von null (Kontakte herstellen, Equipment kaufen, Verbindungen zwischen den verschiedenen Organisationen aufbauen, etc.)

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS :
Wir suchen nach Menschen, die in der Küche lernen und selbst Verantwortung übernehmen wollen. Unser aktueller Plan hat 3 feste Ausgaben (2 Mittage und 1 Abend).

Die Idee ist, dass neue Menschen einen oder zwei Tage die Woche Aufgaben übernehmen. Für einen festen oder variablen Tag, hin und wieder, einkaufen gehen, den „récup“ (Lebensmittel, die vom Markt abfallen) organisieren, in der Administration aushelfen, in der Kommunikation, im Fundraising, in der Instandhaltung der Küche.. Wir brauchen auch Menschen mit Führerschein.
Je mehr wir sind, desto weniger Arbeit ist es.
