En réponse à l’arrêt de la Cour constitutionnelle, 4 juin 2020, no 81/2020

La Belgique dans laquelle nous étudions et travaillons, dans laquelle nous nous engageons socialement dans un désir profond d’émancipation, d’instruction et d’épanouissement, devrait être une Belgique inclusive où le respect mutuel fait loi.

Etant donné que nous ne pouvons pas compter sur nos représentants pour veiller à ce que cela devienne réalité, nous serons nous-mêmes actrices de ce changement.

La lutte ne cessera pas tant que la législation et la jurisprudence belge manquera de prendre en compte les réalités des femmes musulmanes lorsque des décisions les concernant sont prises.

In antwoord op het arrest van het Grondwettelijk Hof, 4 juni 2020, no 81/2020

Het land waarin we werken en studeren, sociaal betrokken zijn en een diep verlangen hebben naar emancipatie, onderwijs en ontplooiing, moet een land zijn dat inclusief is en waar wederzijds respect de wet dicteert.

Aangezien we niet op onze vertegenwoordigers kunnen rekenen om ervoor te zorgen dat dit werkelijkheid wordt, zullen we zelf deze verandering sturen.

We zullen de strijd doorzetten, zolang de Belgische wetgeving en rechtspraak er niet in slagen rekening te houden met de realiteit van moslimvrouwen in hun besluitvormingsproces.

In response to the judgement of the Constitutional Court, 4th of June 2020, no 81/2020

The country in which we work and study, in which we get socially involved in a profound desire of emancipation, instruction, and fulfillment, should be a country that is inclusive and where mutual respect dictates the law.

Given that we cannot count on our representatives to ensure that this becomes reality, we will ourselves be actors of that change.

The fight will not cease until the belgian law and case-law take into account the realities of muslim women, whenever they make decisions that concern them directly.
