Une thèse intitulée "Mur de fer", écrite par Jabotinsky (un leader russe sioniste) illustre la volonté sioniste en 1923 de développer une colonisation à l’abri d’un mur que "la population indigène ne pourrait pas percer". Cela fait maintenant 20 ans qu’Israël a commencé à construire ce mur de séparation de 760 km de long en Cisjordanie (Palestine occupée) et plus de 15 ans depuis qu’il a été considéré comme illégal par l’ONU. Suite logique du régime d’Apartheid instauré dès 1948, année de la création de l’Etat israélien, ce mur s’érige pour compléter la ségrégation tissée par des lois racistes, par l’expropriation et la colonisation.

Le but de cette conférence est de vous montrer ce qui se cache au-delà de ce mur.
On insistera notamment sur la façon dont la société israélienne et la communauté internationale restent voilées face à la situation dramatique actuelle en Palestine. Nos deux intervenant.es, ayant vécu là-bas, chacun.e d’un côté différent du mur, témoigneront de leurs expériences respectives et approfondiront les sujets spécifiques que sont l’éducation et la militarisation de la société israélienne.

Notre première intervenante est Dima Issa. Dima est diplômée de l’Université libre de Bruxelles en anthropologie. Elle est également ex-membre du comité BDS de l’ULB.

Notre deuxième intervenant est Eitan Bronstein. C’est un éducateur israélien. En 2015, il a cofondé De-Colonizer, research and art laboratory for a social change.

A thesis name “Iron Wall” developed by Jabotinsky (Russian Zionist leader) in 1923 illustrates the wish of the Zionists to perpetuate the colonization of Palestine behind a wall which “the native population cannot breach”. For 20 years now, Israel has started to build that 760 km long wall of separation in the occupied territories of Palestine. 15 years ago the UN considered the wall to be illegal. Complementary to the politics of the Apartheid regime, the iron wall is built to enforce the segregation and racist laws, the expropriation and colonization of Palestine.

The aim of the conference is to shed light on what is happening beyond this wall of Zionism. We will focus on how the Israeli society and the international community stay blind on the dramatic situation for the Palestinians. Our two speakers come each one from on side of the wall and will talk about how education and militarization of the Israeli society play an important role on the ongoing statu quo.

Dima Issa will be our first speaker. She studied Anthropology at the free University of Brussels and was member of the BDS committee.

Eitan Bronstein is an Israeli educator who cofounded De-Colonizer a research and art laboratory for social change.

The conference will be in English
